Sunday Morning Rain is Falling

It's a beautiful (read: rainy) day here at home...perfect day to stay inside and do absolutely nothing. I actually have no say in the matter anyway because I am stuck quarantined in my room with strep throat (yippee). While I am enjoying the perks, (ie netflix, reading, pajamas) I am getting a little bit of a cabin fever. What gets me through these awfully boring sick days??

1. Puffs Tissues (plus lotion!)
Because who likes a red, dry nose?

2. Halls Cough Drops
Preferably strawberry or the breezers mixed berry-- they taste so good that I forget I'm eating a cough drop!

3. Netflix, netflix, netflix
I just finished up season 2 of Scandal, and I am now searching for season 3 so I can catch up (get it together netflix and get season 3!) I'm hooked!

4. Reading
Almost done with The Fault in Our Stars by John Green... I think I've put off finishing it to put off the tears and disappointment that people have warned me of...But it's so good!

5. Tea & Honey
My abosulte favorite kind of tea is ginger peach, but I've been drinking the Twinnings lemon and ginger tea with honey to soothe my sore throat.

6. Fruit (mostly strawberries)
I had a massive craving for strawberries this morning...and we were out (I finished them off last night...oops).  Luckily my parents made a grocery store run to pick some up for me and I was in heaven. I don't know why I so desperately wanted strawberries, but they were exactly what my tummy needed.

7. Comfy clothes
I am currently clothed in stretchy athletic pants and a t-shirt...Not exactly pajamas but not exactly going- out clothes either. The comfier I am, the better!

Here's to being a lazy, sick girl hopefully recovering soon. We're flying off to Texas tuesday and my stuffy nose will not agree with the high altitudes, so the medicine better clear up my sinuses soon!

Sincerely,
Allyson xoxo

Giving

My friends and I had our Chrismas gift exchange today and it was awesome. I was not as excited about opening my gifts as I was to watch everyone open their gifts. It makes me so happy to see everyone get excited about what they got, and I love giving gifts more than anything. I am so grateful to have such an amazing and supportive group of friends, and I couldn't be more impressed with how well they all know me! Today really put me in the Christmas mood, and I can't wait until it's actually Christmas!
'Tis the season!
Sincerely,
Allyson xoxo

Roxy Update!

Thursday was day 6 of my horse's (Roxy) rehab, and I got to canter her for the first time! She's been doing so well after her IRAP injection, it's almost like she's a different horse! I am extremely impressed with how far she's come in just a short amount of time, and I can't wait to see where she'll be a month from now! (jumping hopefully *knocks on wood*)
Sincerely,
Allyson xoxo
P.S. Here's the link to see how she looked!
P.P.S. See how she looked on day 1 here!

Snow Days for Days!

So we had another snow day today, and how much snow is on the ground? Exactly zero inches. It flurried a little bit, but of course it didn't stick. We probably could've gotten away with going to school, but I'm not complaining! I was, however, extremely bored all day. I beccame a hermit curled up in bed in my christmas sweatshirt and glasses aimlessly surfing the internet. After searching pinterest for hours, editing my blog layout, refreshing facebook fifty thousand times, and catching up on my favorite bloggers (ie College Prepster and Mackenzie Horan), I decided I probably should get off my computer (notice how I did not say I would get out of bed). I read "Allegiant" by Veronica Roth (the third book in the Divergent series!!!) for a solid hour and then headed off to ride my horse and then ride Chaser in my lesson. For only being in rehab for two days, Roxy's doing pretty awesome. Overall, not a bad end to an unexpected four day weekend. It's back to prison again tomorrow, but only 10 more days until Christmas break!!
Sincerely,
Allyson xoxo

A Day of Firsts!

So many firsts happened today!
1. Today is my first day as an 18 year old! (hbd to me!)
2. I bought my first lottery ticket! ( but the cashier didn't card me... so disappointing)
3. I got to ride my horse for the first time in 2 months today! (see this)
4. Today was the first cancelation of school for the year! (praying we have another tomorrow!)
I am extremely grateful for everything that I have and I am so so blessed. I had an amazing birthday with my family (my horse included), friends, and lots of laughs! I wouldn't want it any other way. Happy Monday!
Sincerely,
Allyson xoxo
